In Paradise
The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs is paradise. I have been so many times that they know my name at the front desk and sometimes they send us champagne!!! The staff is so so sweet and they give you little watermelon sugar candies and you can ride bikes around the neighborhood at night. It is set in a 50's suburban neighborhood, away from the crowded main strip of Palm Springs. There is a totally hidden fancy restaurant covered in green vines and tucked away next to a perfect blue pool across the street. The waiters come out with silver platters and steaks and they all have different accents. You can sit outside and see all the stars while you drink wine. Then you can ride your bike back across the street and watch projected movies in your private patio.
There are fire pits and a hot tub that is surrounded by white beds you can tan on during the day. The bartender, Christian, skateboards around the pool and gives you free watermelon cocktails and chicken taco salads. Dogs are allowed at the hotel and you can pet all the puppies while you read magazines and get drunk at 2pm with your boyfriend. The beds are incredibly comfortable. Robb and I actually contemplated trying to live there on the weekends. There are record players in the room with old Motown records you can play, and there are two patios with fireplaces and you can leave the sliding doors open to let the warm air in. Because it's summer. And youre in paradise, and it's magical.
