The Parker Palm Springs.

Never has there been a prettier hotel.

This is their motto:

"We believe in the American country club experience: mixed doubles, a long steam, and a stiff cocktail.

We believe in inner beauty. But, do what you can on the outside.

We believe in old-world etiquette and new age simplicity.

We believe you can swim right after you eat.

We believe we should trust those seeking enlightenment and doubt those who claim to have found it.

We believe the earth is three-quarters water, and your body is three-quarters water, and... this is purely coincidence.

We believe in good sport as well as fitness: Pétanque and Pastis, Pimms Cup and Croquet, Snooker and single malt whiskey.

We believe you are only young once... but you can be immature forever."

INTO THE SUN

Lord Huron is a great new band, just introduced to me by a mutual friend. Their song "We Went Wild" sounds a bit like Paul Simon/Fleet Foxes. Somebody described the band as " a little bit like ANIMAL COLLECTIVE trapped on a deserted island ".

Audrey Hepburn had a pet Fawn.

I know she is very well loved by everybody for her beauty and her talent but I think her eccentricites are what make her the most charming. She had a pet deer named Pippin, who she took on walks and took to the market. Ah!

Palm Springs, I Love You.

Well, back again in Palm Springs. I don't know why I don't just move there. The Ace just gets better and better. A big airstrem trailer out in front selling posters and moccasins, free ice cold lemonade by the pool, private patio rooms with indian rugs to sink your feet into. Someday I will move there. Until then, almost every weekend we drive there, blaring Tom Petty, faces out the window in the hot air.

To make matters worse I finally went to the Parker....No words can describe. It's so great. Croquet, Hammocks, Wide green lush lawns you can roll around on, two big TURQUOISE  cold pools with yellow and white striped umbrellas, a hidden restaurant, a hidden ballroom with a chandelier, gardens and trails where you can drink in fancy cups.  More pictures to come.
